About Us

Having four years of training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation gives Dr. Jorgensen a distinct advantage due to his experience treating patients and managing multiple conditions such as: post stroke syndromes, central pain syndromes, spinal cord injuries, sports medicine, musculoskeletal medicine, and post-trauma inpatient rehabilitation. Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) residencies focus on the holistic treatment of each patient including but not limited to performing diagnostic procedures, medication management, and mental health support. He was trained to act as a member of a team to address the needs of the whole person he treats. After finishing his residency he completed an Interventional Pain fellowship at UTSCSA in the Anesthesia program.

Another benefit for both patients and providers is that PM&R trained doctors are one of two specialties trained in Electromyography (EMG) and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS). An EMG measures muscle response or electrical activity in response to a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle. The test is used to help detect neuromuscular abnormalities. Dr. Jorgensen trained with the topmost expert, Dr. Daniel Dumitru, in Electromyography while in his fellowship at UTSCSA.  Due to the nature of our clinic we can typically provide EMG’s very quickly, within 1-2 weeks, which can assist patients needing the test in order to have surgery.
